Digitalversus has published a new review on the Canon EOS M. This reviewer only gave 2 stars to the EOS M
, just for one reason – the slowness. That’s quite harsh even if I agree that the speed is rather slow, especially when it tries to auto-focus. There are many other areas where the EOS M
performs very well though, including the image quality. The Caono EOS M
is probably the best backup body for existing Canon users. But for others, for slightly higher cost, you can get very good cameras like Olympus E-M5
, Sony NEX-6
and Fuji X-E1
. And for somewhat lower cost, you can get Olympus E-PL5
which is still as fast as anything in the mirrorless market. Check this review out.
Their conclusion: The Canon EOS M could be a great camera. In fact, its easy, pleasant-to-use design and image quality are easily worth four stars. However, the M’s general slowness just isn’t acceptable, which is why it ended up with a two-star score.
