Looks like this is a new trend for the latest cameras. Just as was the case with the Nikon D800E, Olympus E-M5, and Fuji X-E1 / X-Pro 1, now Nikon 1 J3 and Nikon 1 S1 are confirmed to not have an anti-aliasing filter. This means sharper images with more details but at a risk of producing moire in the images. Does ths mean the sensors used by these two models are different from the previous generation models? It will be interesting to see how this turns out, as the V2 didn’t fare all that well in the DXOMark result (about the same result as the first generation sensor).
