Lens of the year 2012

Photographyblog has published the winner for their lens of the year award! Keep in mind that the PhotographyBlog site covers all gears from all manufacturers, not just the M43 gears. So which lens won this award?

Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8! Two other lenses that deserve to be mentioned IMO are – Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8 and Olympus 75mm f1.8. These are all pro-grade lenses that challenges IQ on any counterpart lenses from any systems.

Their comment on the lens: The Panasonic 12-35mm F2.8 ASPH standard zoom offers a versatile focal range and a fast maximum aperture in a relatively small package, backed-up by excellent image quality throughout the focal range, the best build quality of any Panasonic Micro Four Thirds lens yet released, a tactile manual focusing system and impressively fast and quiet autofocusing.
